Auto Alliance Statement on California’s Updated AV Regulation Proposal

The Alliance continues to consider the California DMV a partner in not only expediting these transformative technologies to market, but also in building consumer acceptance. We’re already conducting a complete review and we’ll have more expansive comments to submit by the comment period deadline.

An initial look suggests that the DMV recognizes that certain onerous requirements could delay the safe testing and deployment of these important, life-saving technology features. We appreciate the DMV’s attempts to streamline requirements consistent with the recently updated Federal guidance.
