Auto Alliance Launches “Buyers Wanted” Campaign for Electric Vehicles

On Wednesday, March 28, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (Auto Alliance) announced the “Buyers Wanted” campaign, which highlights the number of electric vehicles available to consumers in addition to the marketplace conditions of alternative powered vehicles.

Auto Alliance President & CEO Mitch Bainwol issued the following statement regarding the campaign:

Automakers are providing our customers with record choice in energy-efficient models while also providing even safer, more environmentally friendly and affordable vehicles to Americans. Electric vehicles (EVs) are an important part of our mission, both in the U.S. and around the world.

Automakers are investing substantial resources in R&D, assembly plants and promotion of EVs and we have a big stake in selling them in large numbers. The last thing we want to see is an EV sitting unsold on a dealer’s lot. We are proud to offer more than 50 EVs on sale now, with more coming, and we support all efforts – education, consumer incentives, more charging stations, more state fleet purchases – to get these vehicles on the road.”

NOTE: Electric vehicles include Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs).
