We are pleased to hear that the U.S. and E.U. have reached an agreement to work together to facilitate trade on both sides of the Atlantic and we look forward to learning more.
After all, the U.S. and E.U. have a long-standing relationship as strong allies and trading partners. Today’s announcement demonstrates that bilateral negotiations are a more effective approach to resolving trade barriers, not increasing tariffs. We appreciate the Administration’s efforts to kick-start this negotiation process to strengthen our transatlantic trade relationship and protect American workers and families – ultimately, they win when barriers are lowered. Automakers stand ready to be a constructive stakeholder in this process.
