The Auto Alliance (Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers) is committed to developing and implementing constructive solutions to public policy challenges that promote sustainable mobility and benefit society in the areas of environment, energy and motor vehicle safety.
The Auto Alliance, the leading advocacy group for the auto industry, represents automakers who build 70% of all cars and light trucks sold in the U.S., including BMW Group, FCA US LLC, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz USA, Mitsubishi Motors, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen Group of America and Volvo Car USA. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Alliance also has offices in Sacramento, California and Detroit, Michigan.

Our Members
David Schwietert
Interim President and CEOMr. Schwietert joined the Alliance in 2015 as Executive Vice President of Federal Government Relations and Public Policy to coordinate legislative and regulatory efforts regarding automotive safety, fuel economy, and automated vehicle technologies. In that capacity, he led the Alliance’s Government Affairs department. Prior to joining the Auto Alliance, Mr. Schwietert worked in the U.S. Senate for over 15 years and held various policy positions, including staff director of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
